Sound Project

Our sound project consisted only of sound with no visual representation. The idea of the project was to create a story that would occur in about two minutes. We had to combine sounds to create this story and make it clear to what was occurring. Our story was a chef in a restaurants kitchen going through the process of making a burger for his customer, then proceeding to deliver the food towards the end. There are many layered audios of typical restaurant kitchen sounds such as the sound of washing dishes, talking, blenders, chopping vegetables, boiling water, and etc. The primary sounds consisted of putting gloves on, placing ingredients down on table, stove turning on, patty sizzling on stove, stove turning off, chopping of lettuce and tomatoes, and etc.

In order to approach the development of this project, we first needed to find and save audios. My partner and I searched up the audios we needed, screen recorded, put them in order, and finally imported them to our editing app. It was a little difficult trying to find the correct and most accurate audios that we needed in order to make our project imaginable without visual representation. We had to compare multiple audios that were alike to see which were better and tough decisions were made due to the worry if the other audio would be more suitable.

Next, after we imported the sounds we then had to layer them. In my opinion this was the most difficult part of the project. Not only did we have to layer the audios at the correct timing, we had to adjust the audio sound so it would not disrupt the primary audios and make the project sound understanding. There was many audios being layered so at times it got difficult. But, at the end when we got the hang of it, it was not that bad and it was cool to hear all the audios come together and create the story that was intended.
