Camera Shots quiz

In the camera shots quiz, the directions were to choose between one or two objects where we would create a story with these objects. The story that we needed to create would consist of 15 shots using the different camera shot angles that was learned in class.

My partner and I came up with different ideas and decided we wanted to do something about bullying in a school environment. After a bit of thinking we decided to use markers and ChapSticks as students and a glue-stick as a teacher in a classroom. The glue stick (teacher) introduces a new student (chapstick) to the classroom who gets bullied and left out by the markers (other students) due to the fact that the chapstick is different than the markers. We decided that the chapstick in the story should end on a happy note so we decided to introduce a new student the next day who also happens to be a chapstick. Both chapsticks end up happy together and the first chapstick who got bullied is not sad anymore. We used a variety of different shots to show the expressions of each characters, the power each character has, and the relationships between each character.

The story itself in my opinion was creative and a good idea. The intentions behind each shot was well thought through. The thinking behind what facial expressions should be used and what shots should be used to improve the scene was also thought through well. What could have been better was the location the shots being taken, and more accurate naming of the shots. For example, in one shot it was named an extreme-close up when it was more really a close up.
